What is The Score of Today’s IPL Match between RCB and PBKS

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) delivered a stunning all-round performance to secure a 60-run victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. This marked RCB’s fourth consecutive win, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Virat Kohli starred with the bat, smashing 92 off 47 balls despite being dropped twice early on. His brilliant innings included a 76-run partnership with Rajat Patidar, who contributed an explosive 55 off just 23 balls. Late cameos from Cameron Green (46 off 27) and Dinesh Karthik (18 off 7) powered RCB to a massive total of 241/7. In the field, RCB shone brightly with a spectacular backward-running catch from Faf du Plessis, a remarkable off-balance direct-hit run-out by Kohli, and Karn Sharma’s impactful bowling spell 2/29. PBKS managed 181 in 17 overs, falling well short of the target.

RCB’s Dominant Bowling Performance Seals Big Win

Defending a daunting target of 242, RCB made an ideal start as Swapnil Singh trapped Prabhsimran Singh LBW in the opening over. Rilee Rossouw looked dangerous early, hitting consecutive boundaries off his first two balls. RCB missed a chance to dismiss him when Faf du Plessis couldn’t hold on to a tough catch at backward point. Rossouw capitalized on the reprieve, hammering Mohammed Siraj for three fours and a six in the next over. Alongside Jonny Bairstow, Rossouw added a blistering 65 runs in just 30 balls before Lockie Ferguson struck, dismissing Bairstow (caught at mid-off) in the final over of the Powerplay. A stunning backward-running catch by Du Plessis ended the dangerous partnership as PBKS reached 75/2 after six overs.

Rossouw continued his onslaught, racing to a 21-ball fifty with a four and a six off Cameron Green. However, the turning point came when Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis turned to Karn Sharma. The experienced leg-spinner dismissed Rossouw (61 off 27) with a vital catch at long-on just after conceding a boundary and a six. Karn struck again in his next over, cleaning up Jitesh Sharma despite another six and four earlier in the spell. PBKS faltered, losing three wickets quickly, including Liam Livingstone for a duck to Swapnil Singh. Shashank Singh’s spirited 37 off 19 was cut short by Kohli’s remarkable off-balance direct hit, a moment that further sealed the match in RCB’s favor.

RCB maintained control by taking regular wickets, with Mohammed Siraj trapping Ashutosh Sharma LBW and Lockie Ferguson dismissing PBKS captain Sam Curran to leave them struggling at 170/8. Siraj wrapped up the game in the 17th over, dismissing Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh, sealing a commanding win for RCB.

Early Drama and Powerplay Brilliance

Earlier, PBKS opted to field after winning the toss, and the match began with plenty of drama. Virat Kohli was dropped twice within the first three overs. Debutant Vidwath Kaverappa experienced a mix of highs and lows in his first two overs. On his third IPL delivery, Kohli top-edged a shot high on the off-side, but running backward, Ashutosh Sharma couldn’t hold on to the tough chance. Faf du Plessis then piled on the pressure, finishing the over with two boundaries. Kaverappa didn’t have to wait long for his first IPL wicket, as he had Du Plessis caught at a profound point in his next over. He almost dismissed Kohli in the same over. Still, Rilee Rossouw dropped a powerful shot at cover, giving Kohli another life.

Kohli and Jacks accelerated the scoring, hitting a couple of fours and a six off Sam Curran. The contest between Kohli and debutant Kaverappa was particularly intriguing. Kohli charged down the pitch and smashed the first ball of the fifth over for a six, but Kaverappa responded by dismissing Jacks, who was caught at short fine leg by Harshal Patel. Kaverappa nearly picked up his third wicket two balls later when Rajat Patidar’s uppish shot flew to long leg. Still, Harshal dropped an easy catch, much to Kaverappa’s frustration.

Patidar made Harshal pay for the miss, striking three fours in the last over of the Powerplay as RCB reached 56/2 after six overs. The pair then launched into an aggressive display, hitting five sixes in the following two overs to push RCB’s total even further.
