Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started their innings quickly. Still, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made a strong comeback by taking three wickets during the Powerplay. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli initially added 41 runs for the opening wicket, with du Plessis leading the attack. He played well-timed shots and aggressively smashed four fours off Deepak Chahar’s third over.
CSK regained control when Mahesh Theekshana gave away just four runs in his over. Ruturaj Gaikwad then brought on Mustafizur Rahman, who made an immediate impact by dismissing du Plessis, who had scored eight fours, with a spectacular diving catch by Rachin Ravindra at deep point. Mustafizur struck again, removing Rajat Patidar shortly after. Deepak Chahar then took a wicket in his new spell, getting Glenn Maxwell out caught behind, leaving RCB at 42/3 by the end of the Powerplay.
Virat Kohli and Cameron Green stabilized Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a 35-run partnership. However, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Mustafizur Rahman struck a crucial blow by dismissing Kohli. Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja combined to take a stunning catch at deep mid-wicket. Mustafizur continued his excellent work by dismissing Green, leaving RCB in a difficult position at 79/5 after 12 overs.
Dinesh Karthik (38* off 26) and Anuj Rawat (48 off 25) took charge and rebuilt RCB’s innings. They were initially cautious but started to accelerate from the 15th over, adding 83 runs in the last six overs. Notably, they scored 25 runs off one over from Tushar Deshpande, including three sixes and a four, which helped boost the total. Their partnership of 95 runs from 50 balls for the sixth wicket was crucial in lifting RCB to a final score 173/6. At the end of their innings, RCB introduced Yash Dayal as their Impact Player, replacing Dinesh Karthik.
